Brain rest for parents
THOSE parents who don’t use night-time as their sanctuary might be on brain over-drive!
The amount of times we say our kid’s names, tell them the answer to the world’s oil crisis or the like, say yes or no or maybe, help them do a million things, mentally, we are drained! Not to mention our own day full of our own issues and achievements.
If you are an extra generous parent, and depending on the child’s age, you may let them stay up later than their bed-time occasionally. Just remember, this is your time and, if you are being more irritable than normal during the day, maybe you are being starved of your time!
Everyone has different needs so maybe when your kids go to bed you go to bed or you use YOUR night-time to talk on the phone uninterrupted, watch television uninterrupted or anything for that matter – uninterrupted!
We all love our children and the time we spend with them. However, I am a big believer in quality time and I find as a parent, when I get time to myself I am more of a quality parent.

Quite right ,parents do need some time to themselves at night, after having spent the day attending to their children’s needs.
