Chuckle before sleep
Experts say it is best to take about 10 to 20 minutes to fall asleep. If you fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow you might be suffering from a sleep disorder-and you might miss having a glimpse at your day and a chuckle!
In Australia we are accustomed to the funny emotions associated with accidental mishaps! For some reason the funniest thing, for so many, is when someone falls over or trips or stumbles. No one likes to thing anyone hurts themselves and this is the first question after the chuckle! I don’t think there is any malice in the chuckle it is just a contagious feeling when a person goes belly up!
The great thing about it is it is often a really instant true laugh by people and laughing is great for our health. However, thankfully the funnier ones, are often just a silly fall and normally the mishap is not serious in terms of injury. Embarrassment, however, for the person making the mishap, is probably as contagious as the laugh!
Another curious thing is every single time you see it – it is still really funny!! Last week, Australia’s Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, took a spectacular fall near the Gandhi Memorial in New Delhi, India, when her shoe bogged in soft grass. Gillard ended up flat and very low to the ground extremely quickly. She was helped up by the hosts and quickly recovered and laughed off the incident. Hence, in the interview Gillard’s demeanour was light and jovial and I think this was impressive. Even our Prime Minister sees the funny side in accidental mishaps – without serious injury.
So have a little chuckle before you sleep. If you can’t think of one search for one on-line and it will be in your thoughts for a while!!
