Waking up and getting out the door
Sometimes a great sleep is wonderful, but then the rush out the door makes you feel like you need 8 hours of sleep again!
For some personalities It is easier if you have to be somewhere at a set time, however, if they are leisurely popping out for a bike ride with the kids and it is hard to get out the door because the time is flexible.
Saying: “we have to leave soon” is too confusing – especially to kids. The best option is setting a time is so everyone is aware of how much time they have until departure!
If the family has to be out the door early in the morning remind them of this the night before and tell them to do “extra things” before bed because in the morning there will only be time for breakfast, chores, getting dressed and teeth.
A list can work wonders for kids and adults too!
I have to remind myself not to do “unnecessary things” that can wait. I will not forgo personal grooming, but if time is of the essence some cleaning has to wait!
