Our kids empathetic towards homelessness
Fortunate kids helping out less fortunate people is very rewarding and beneficial for both. Some of our local schools have nights where kids stay with teachers and sleep in cardboard boxes or sleeping bags on the school verandah.
The aim is for kids to have an understanding towards those less fortunate. This kind of behaviour also encourages these children to understand what wonderful work all of the organisations do who support underprivileged people.
Everyone has a story and life doesn’t always flow as one would have hoped. Everyone needs support from others at some time in their life. Next time you see someone who looks like they are doing it tough – don’t judge – just smile.
