Developing good texting habits is vital and this will prevent bad texting habits from being developed. Texting in the middle of the night, once you have gone to sleep, is an extremely bad habit and one that could be hard to break. Here are six reasons why bad texting habits are destroying our health and are senseless:
1. It sets a bad example.
Even if nobody sees you because they are sleeping, you know you are guilty and when you are telling them how important it is to have technology off, your guilt rises and it is probably hard to hide.
2. You have interrupted your sleep.
There is no way to justify reading a text in the middle of the night. People will call if there is an emergency.
3. Getting back to sleep may be an issue.
Even if you think you retuned to sleep immediately, reading the text took time and thoughts so your brain did wake up.
4. Your brain is in rest mode and it is not ready for the day’s texts yet.
Your brain is relax and rest mode and a text could ruin this and be the start of a bad habit.
5. You are compromising your health and day’s functioning.
We need uninterrupted sleep. Many people remember having babies and toddlers and broken sleep is not very good on the body’s ability to function.
6. It sends a message that sleep is not important.
If others know you are reading texts, then they may keep sending them and think you don’t mind and your body also gets confused about when it should be sleeping. Many people have real sleep-related issues and creating one because of careless actions is senseless.
