The worst ten mistakes you might be making
1. eat a large meal or drink lots just before bed
2. your sleeping spot is too stimulating for your mind
3. you just lie there and suffer
4. alcohol, coffee or cigarettes just before bed
5. you might be too busy and therefore you sleep less
6. very active until bed
7. exercise before bed
8. prolonged naps
9. your room is too cold, noisy or warm
10. your sleep time is varied from night to night
Some people are doing more than one of the above and breaking the habit might be hard. Try and get assistance from someone and see if they can offer support. Your bad sleep pattern will continue if a conscious effort isn’t made to change it. One idea might be to set your mobile phone to remind you, an hour before bed, how to behave.

I find that some nights I seem to lay awake for what seems like a very long time ,which can be quite annoying, especially when I have to go to work the next day.
