Waking teenagers up for payback
As parents it feels like our sleep is never the same after raring a beautiful baby. I mean not waking to a crying child, a wake-up scream or nudge in the night or little night visitors (once the child is a teenager!) is pleasing, however, after many years of interrupted sleep I think our bodies take a long time re-adjust. I remember when my daughter was a baby I also woke so many times a night checking on her. Even when pregnant sleep is pretty uncomfortable at times. Some say this is in preparation for what is to come!!!
I have spoken to many mothers lately about this topic and so many of us agree.
And the sad news is apparently it is not possible to catch up on sleep one has missed. If for example you don’t get enough sleep during the week, you can’t catch up on the weekend. So I guess that means you can’t catch up on 5 years either!
So wake your teenagers up as often as you feel it is necessary..even if it makes you feel only a bit better!
Funnily enough while the little critters are ruining our sleep we try everything to make their sleep so pleasant. A warm bath and a massage, warm cosy clothes, cosy bed and warm milk.
However, if you are not getting enough sleep to cope you must see your doctor. Not enough sleep can make you moody, forgetful, you can’t think and work well, you may be clumsy and just not on the ball.

OMG! I even try to sleep well! But it’s hard to sleep well every night. Once I saw that to recover a bad night’s sleep we need two good nights sleep! I’m lost! lol
