Misreading good night texts
If you read a good night text and it sends you ballistic maybe you also went ballistic that day because the same fly wouldn’t buzz off, the timer didn’t go off for the lasagne, your friend didn’t give you the right response when you said what you did on the weekend…
Just relax and maybe the text is fine and it is the way you are reading it. Unfortunately with predictive text and people’s poor reviewing skills – some poor choice words do filter through!
It might not be the text you were wanting, but the other person probably doesn’t exactly know how you feel. I know we wish they would, but life isn’t that easy!
So, try and pretend you are just a fairly normal person (with a normal life) who had a normal day and would that text be okay? If so – that is great – send a nice one back and go to sleep.
Nevertheless, I know you are asking – what sort do I send back – do I let it be known that I am annoyed, angry, confused (whatever it is)? Do I give the person the benefit of the doubt and ignore the weirdness of this text?
Fortunately or unfortunately some people can’t leave things because their mind plays up. So if that is you be very careful as you respond. Don’t judge. Maybe just something light like:
“That wasn’t like your normal good night texts – is everything okay there?” XX
