10 day-time activities important for sleep
Sleep is not a stand-alone activity: basically, if you have had a good day you will have a good sleep.
1. Plan your day
2. Wake with plenty of time in the morning
3. Write a list so you cover the must do activities – house chores, reply to texts, emails, pressing matters, work issues, etc.
4. Eat regular healthy snacks/meals
5. Have water and a coffee or two is okay
6. Do some exercise – before you leave the house in the morning, at lunch –time take a walk, or when you get home. Better still – take your dog for a walk when you get home – your dog will sleep better too.
7. Do not eat too many fatty foods. Your body finds fatty foods harder to digest – especially when you are sleeping.
8. Break your day up and add a bit of variety if you are doing the same task all day. For example, if you sit on a computer most of the day – make sure every half an hour you take a short walk around the office, stretch and drink plenty of water.
9. Talk about any worries you have
10. Smile and be a good friend to someone and support people throughout your day
