“Wake up Sweet”
The purpose of this post is to remind us all that when we have to wake someone else up..do it with care. Try to think about how you would like to be woken. I mean unless there is a fire or major emergency there is no need to shout in one’s ear and shake like they are fitting!
We all just have to think back to when we have been waken unfavourably to know how it feels. When I had my daughter the midwife took her for a few hours after she was born. I will never forget the way the midwife entered the room at about 2am throwing my little bundle at me. She rushed in, slammed the light on, yelled: “time to feed your baby”. She then grabbed my arm to confirm the tag matched my daughter’s and tried to teach me how to breast feed in bed the ‘football’ method..WOW!!!!
So whether you are waking a partner for work or a child for school, do it with sincerity and thoughtfulness and kindness! Start of gentle and gradually build up to being a bit louder and a bit more obvious. And let them wake to a big smile .
If you are in the mood for a good laugh or even if you aren’t in the mood but would like to be, check out these compilations of wake up prank videos. They explain exactly what I mean about waking people gently!
