Did you or your significant other ever carry a pager? I carried one for several years before mobile phones and emails.
At first it was only numbers then we thought we were pretty hi-tech when we could receive short text messages.
It certainly was annoying at times and you couldn’t reply or ring back until you could find a landline. I remember some awkward moments like when I was out with Jenny and got a page: “Sue cant make dinner tonite”! I still have no idea who Sue is and had some explaining to do! Then a series of pages saying: “Oscar has been bitten by a snake – hurry home” – obviously the wrong number and I couldn’t do anything about it – Thinking someone is panicking big time I rang the paging company but they were no help.
However, they were also a great way to let someone know you were thinking about them right at that moment! Of course you had to ring an operator and give them your message which was a tad embarrassing but we used to have a bit fun with them and they had seen and heard it all I suppose – I used to love asking them to read the message back and say “oh thankyou – I love you too”. Well, I thought I was funny and cute.
Why not go “old school” and express some love like we used to?. As you probably know, numbers look like certain letters when held upside down. One of the more well known words is 07734 (hello). You can also type in 143, 1 for letter I, 4 to signify the number of letters in LOVE and 3 for the letters in YOU.
Here are a few others for you to try out.
5376616 (GIGGLES) 53551,5604 (HOGS & ISSES) 372215 (SIZZLE) 55178 (BLISS) 14 (HI) 5637 (LEGS) 55378 (BLESS) |
