A book to help parents
Everyone’s got a bottom
— a storybook for children aged 3 – 8 years
This book is aimed at helping us keep our children safe. The message to children is we all have bodies and we want to keep our bodies safe. This is a good way to introduce children to the idea of self protection. The book is written in a fun way with the motto:
“From our head to our toes, we can say what goes.”

Author, Tess Rowley is a Queensland author and educator who has worked in child abuse prevention for over 20 years.
It is a great bedtime story. It is part of our job as parents to educate our children and keep them safe in a variety of ways.
I have read this to my daughter many times. I bring it out about three or four times a year and I have done since she was about 5-years-old. It is a very positive way to talk about protecting our bodies.
One page reads: It might be a person that I know and like. It is still not ok for them to touch or ask to see my private parts or to show me theirs. If someone wants to do something that is rude I can talk to a grown-up I trust.
