Do we read good night texts
This is the scenario: a friend, partner, son or daughter falls asleep whilst texting. What do we do? Do we leave them, do we remove the phone from their hand? Do we read their good night text?
Well I guess if you fell asleep texting, and to be helpful someone takes the phone out of your hand to put it somewhere nearby, are you okay if the person takes your phone off you and/or reads it? Does it depend on the relationship?
Taking the phone off a sleeping person is helpful so the person can relax their hand while sleeping. Also if the phone drops on the floor it might be damaged.
I think the person who takes the phone from the sleeping person must ask him or herself why they would need to read it? Some reasons when it might be okay:
1. If you and the person have discussed reading each other’s texts and it is okay.
2. If you think as a parent your child is in danger.
3. You feel your partner is being dishonest and you have tried many other means to communicate with them.
The test: If the person wakes up, while you are taking it off them, and you are taking it for the right reasons, you will not feel nervous!!!!!

Perhaps another test is how nervous the other person is when you take their phone from them!
