Be the perfect neighbour
In suburbia, it is important to remember everyone leads different lives. We have night-shift workers, mothers with babies, sick people, young and the elderly, working people, healthy people and lots more. Living with neighbours can be hard, but if you try and be the perfect neighbour then hopefully everyone else will follow suit!
If there is a noisy party going on and you determine the noise to be unreasonable the first step is to call the police. The police will determine the severity of the noise. If it is an off-road vehicle or an on-road vehicle noise you could try the police or the department of transport in your area.
If the noise complaint is about a licensed premise including nightclubs, you will need to contact the Government’s Office of Liquor. However, noise from audible traffic lights, education services, road works, and aircraft is permitted within certain levels.
If the problem is an animal this is probably a local Council issue. If possible, with some complaints, it is good to try and chat to your neighbour first before involving outsiders. This could be a much simpler way of solving the problem without any added negative feelings. Try to approach the matter in a neutral non-blaming way. For example: I find it hard to sleep when I hear constant barking. Is there anything I can do to help you with your dog? Of course if this subtle approach doesn’t work you will have to take a more assertive approach and contact a community body.

Noisy neighbours can be a real problem ,we used to have a dog that barked constantly when the owners went out anywhere.
