Don’t sleep angry verses too tired to discuss issue
When we are tired we are less likely to think logically, sensibly or practically! Unfortunately, however, things are sent to try us and if something is important enough we just have to use the last bit we have to be the best we can.
Positive talk to yourself, even just before you close your eyes and fall into a heap, is what will get you through the day and night in the best possible way.
The secret might be to keep the ‘hot’ discussion as simple as possible and keep calm. Do not try and focus on your tiredness: focus on the issue at hand and the best way for everyone to solve it.
The sleep you will have, if you are upset or angry, is not going to be as good as the sleep you will have if you are satisfied and content.
Some examples of positive talk:
* No one enjoys fighting
* No one purposely tries to upset anyone
* Remember why you love this person
* Be mindful of your non-verbal cues (majority of communication the other person sees)
