Do we get the kids to bed and not worry about their school work?
Sometimes, the most organised parents in the world run out of time and it’s not good to skip homework because that can affect other things?
I think it’s occasionally okay to write a note to excuse homework, but what is that teaching our kids?
However, when they are tired, they do not learn as much. But how do you give them opportunities and sleep? It’s very difficult.
I heard something on the radio the other day about not trying to obtain balance and it’s one of the best ideas I have heard. They said that balance is unattainable and we just need to go with what is happening at the time and make it work. At times, we need to work longer hours and other times not and sometimes we have loads of family time and other times we do not. It is about doing the best thing for the best situation at the time.
As British based and self-help philosopher, Alain de Botton said: “There is no such thing as work-life balance. Everything worth fighting for unbalances your life.”
We can have busy times and quiet times, just like we have happy and sad times. There can’t be a work-life balance because who knows what that is? The pressures of society always have us believe what we have is not what we are seeking, but it is.

When you are busy, you often crash pretty good. Use your traction pillow to improve your posture while sleeping good. Knock out 2 birds with one stone…
