Is a good night text to someone else a form of cheating – even if it is harmless and not raunchy? Only you know that and if you are asking the question – then it probably is! If you have been chatting to a friend and you text good night – well that is just a good night text to a friend; unless of course you are thinking/wanting it to be more.
Texting doesn’t make it easier to cheat or be dishonest – people make it easier by doing it. In some ways technology enables people to have more access to ways of communication, however, the choice is always up to the individual. I don’t believe we can blame technology for relationship breakdowns. People are responsible for relationship breakdowns.
What about these scenarios?
1) A friend is sexting someone else, but you know it is not their husband.
2) I said good night to my husband in bed – now I will send a good night text!
3) I read a good night text on my husband’s phone – it was to a different number.
4) My boyfriend called me by his ex-girlfriend’s name in a text.
More confusion about texting:
I want a good night text first – you say to yourself: “I sent a good night text first last night and the night before. Why am I the first to text good night. I will wait tonight.”
Are there more things you are not happy with or just this? If it is just this – give the person the benefit of the doubt – you sent a text first – that is it. If there is more to it – ask them?
