Goodnight texts to daughter
ANOTHER great thing about technology is it helps separated families. Some of the communication available is is Skype (internet communication with vision) and various chat places and old fashioned texting!
My daughter is 8-years-old now so a good age to be texting. I received my first text from her last night. She was just at her Dad’s place for one night. This is the first time she has been able to text. She previously had a phone that I could call her on. I said to her when she went with her Dads…you could send me a good night text if you want. I forgot about it later and about 8.35pm I was working at my computer and what a lovely surprise! It made my night!
“Good night mummy love you lots.”
I replied with a big smile.
Emma could have previously used her Dad’s phone or my phone, however, I think it is a bit more personal for her – having her own phone and not having to ask to use a parent’s phone.
Emma is still using the ‘parent’s phone’ for general chats but her own phone is if she wants to talk to the other parent in a situation when she is feeling a little anxious or unsure of a situation.
