One of the nicest things I have heard about dating sites is the companionship people receive, which sometimes may only be for a few weeks at a time. However, even if it doesn’t last, the joy is in each text and in each moment. The intimate and flirtatious good morning and good night texts make people (all over the world) feel special.
Ironically, texting seems to be a way even complete strangers feel comfortable talking about everything from their sexual preferences to whether they like drinking coffee or not! So, for every bad internet dating story you hear, thing of the joy the sites also bring.
Going to sleep feeling cared for and waking with this same feeling is valuable for people’s health. People sometimes underestimate the power of the heart, but most still keep chasing it because it is a special unknown phenomenon humans ultimately need.
There aren’t many rules, as long as each person is being respectful. I think people ask whatever they want and it is their chance to be a bit naughty, even if it stops at texting.
In an article from the University of Rochester, their findings about dating sites are summarised:
- About 1 in 4 couples meet online and this is still on the rise.
- The top way to meet people is through friends and Online dating is second.
- Men are 40% more likely to email a woman than the other way around.
- The matching algorithms some sites use are questionable – they can’t be tested because the information is private company only business!
