Infidelity is a part of our society and people justify it for many reasons. The majority who do it say they do it to save their marriage. There are websites for married people and these are extremely popular.
People who seek a counsellor’s support, after being cheated on by a partner, often say the feeling is similar to the grief associated with a death or post-traumatic stress.
A study of divorce and related issues by the Australian Institute of Family Studies found that about a fifth of divorced Australians blamed infidelity as the primary cause of marriage break-down.
